"Anne is an outstanding teacher.  She has helped me improve my technique with clear, concise instructions, examples, demonstrations, and her wonderful music.  Anne is always positive and encouraging, with an abundance of patience.  She’s an excellent musician and challenges me to develop my own musical voice.  I appreciate her attention and dedication to my growth as a harpist.  I feel lucky to have her as a teacher and mentor."

"I’ve been taking online harp lessons with Anne since May 2020. I instantly resonated with her playful, imaginative teaching style.  She understands that people learn in many different ways, and at every lesson she has surprises for me that open unexpected doors.  She knows how to encourage and empower the older learner.  I’ve come so far in my harp journey with Anne as guide, and there are so many more places to go.  What an adventure!"
I work with dozens of life-long learners at the harp each week. My students are from all over the world at various levels or playing. I'll help you play with beautiful sound and ease by keeping a watchful eye on your technique. I'll help you break down concepts to gently strengthen your skills and knowledge. I'll encourage you to explore musical artistry through imagery and creative thinking.

I've invested in all the technology to make your online lesson experience the very best it can be. I've got multiple camera angles, screen sharing, high quality microphones and cameras so it feels like I'm right there with you.

Choosing music

When it comes to choosing music I am open to your interests and preferences. I have great instincts for suggesting pieces that will suit your style and level of playing. It's important that you feel successful and I want you to love the music you've chosen to practice.

As a composer of dozens of harp solos you have the unique opportunity to receive coaching on pieces that I have written. Perhaps you have an interest in composing, arranging or learning to improvise, I'd be happy to guide you in those directions as well.

Private lessons are highly individualized to meet you where you are. With 30 years of teaching experience I have the ability to support, guide and lead wherever you wish to go.
"Anne’s lessons are the highlight of my harping life! They are always positive, giving me the incentive I need to practice more and try new things. Anne is helpful not only with playing harp, but also with creating your own arrangements and compositions. She is a wonderful guide and mentor, always willing to share her knowledge and wisdom."

"My learning style is a bit nuanced due to my specific challenges, and Anne teaches me as though she's taught a million neurodivergent learners before, but simultaneously makes me feel as though I'm the only special learner she has. Her kindness, focused attention to what I'm working on, thorough teaching style and openness to all of my questions makes my online harp lessons one of the brightest points of my life."
